The consolidation of library history is one of the important contents of library work, but over the years,the research status of library history is not optimistic: the content collection is incomplete, the research method is old, and the research results are lacking. Taking the Jining University as a an example, the paper analyzes the reasons,and discusses the significance and value of using oral history method to collect library history from rescuing "live" data, digging the new historical data,filling up the short information, innovating the research methods and realizing new service functionality.
